Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony at Dorchester Place,Covington’s New EasyLivingHome® Community

At a ribbon-cutting ceremony Monday, June 10, at the Dorchester Place subdivision in Covington, Newton County Chamber of Commerce president, John
Boothby, membership director, Ron Carter, and several Chamber ambassadors along with Andrea Hammond, executive officer of the Newton County Home
Builders Association, joined builders of the Dorchester Builders Group and Bonnie Bonham, Director of EasyLivingHome® to celebrate the continued
expansion of the EasyLivingHome® program and the Grand Opening of Dorchester Place.
“We are pleased that the builders of the Dorchester Group, BoMar, Mathis Builders and JDS Homes, have chosen to embrace the construction techniques
of EasyLivingHome®”, said Bonham as she presented the first EasyLivingHome® certificate to developer Michael Penland. “These simple features will
benefit everyone who lives in or visits these homes – and they set this new community apart.”
The new, upscale community features tree-lined streets and well-spaced lots that are conducive to socializing, without sacrificing privacy. And the
city's best attractions — from the city square to the local park to the YMCA — are all within walking distance.
Inside, you'll find the very best in upscale living — from gleaming hardwood floors to modern appliances. Dorchester Place pays homage to
traditional Southern architecture with homes that capture the charm and style of a simpler time. Each of their models features an expansive floor
plan and classic detailing, including a sprawling front porch — the perfect place to relax and enjoy a crisp, fall afternoon or a beautiful, summer
evening. Some models also have an enclosed back patio and fireplace, offering numerous options when it comes to outdoor entertaining.
Bob Goucher, president of BoMar, Inc. and also president of the Newton County Home Builders Association, proudly proclaims, “Our homes offer the charm of yesterday with the convenience of today.”

The state of Tennessee became our next affiliate on May 2. In preparation for launching the program, five members of the Tennessee coalition met with
ELH representatives for a private replication summit on May 2-3, and after two days of extensive training, touring, talking and planning, returned home
with excitement and motivation to sign up builders and certify homes. Welcome aboard Virginia and Tennessee!
